Should I get Firefox or upgrade to IE 7?

I am trying to decide whether to upgrade to IE 7 or switch to using Firefox. I've heard that IE 7 has some issues and Firefox is faster and more flexible. I have a Dell Inspiron laptop.

Thanks!

It's a matter of personal taste, do some research, but having both is a good idea. IE7 is more secure, even with its bugs, they'll get them fixed someday and some sites only work with IE. Firefox has many advantages and would be my daily driver.

Firefox is much better. IE is always playing catch up with Firefox. Firefox had tabs and then IE. Firefox has auto spell check. Can IE be far behind.

I would use Firefox as your default browser. Update IE just in case you need it. It is required for system updates.

Be sure to get the Adblock Plus Add-on and you will rarely get popups or ads. You can even add an add-on called IE Tab which allows the switching to IE within a tab when required by the web site.

Firefox or Opera.

I used Firefox for a long time and it was good, and powerful and extensions made it great. I did get frustrated with its interface and usability though so I primarily use Opera now.

PS. Opera DOES have an adblock. You can even copy the adblock list from Firefox and use it in Opera.

I think it depends on your preferences. Both have upsides and downsides. Some sites wont support firefox while all support ie7.

Some of the add ons in firefox are really good but as firefox isnt really a targeted browser for most add ons they dont help a whole lot.

there seem to be two versions of Firefox, both different from each other, the one you get from here can play yahoo videos:

http://www.sleekbytes.com/picasa-google.htm

also, you can still upgrade Explorer and you will therefore have 2 browsers, this won't affect stability but will give you more choice.

Even get http://www.opera.com so you'll have 3 browsers.

IE 7 is just now implementing features FireFox has had for years.
