If i'm watching a video it takes me 10 minutes to watch if it's a 3 min video. It is because it keeps stopping and starting. It plays normally then after a while it stops and about 30 seconds later it starts again, this happens the whole way through the video. Why does this happen? and how can i sort this problem?

If the video is on the internet, it is buffering. The video has to buffer, or save a little bit of video to memory before you can play it. If you have a slow internet connection, such as dial-up, or the site you are watching the video on has low bandwidth or there are a lot of people on the site, then you might encounter delays while the video buffers. In order to have it not stop and buffer throughout the video, wait a little bit before you play the video to let it buffer.

I'm on a dial up connection and did find it hard to watch videos on youtube until i found this method. It does take a bit longer using this method but at least you can watch them. If it's youtube your watching the video on you need to start the video and as soon as it has started press pause button then wait for five minutes maybe less then you will see the red bar moving and when it has reached the end you can press play and the video won't stop.

It's because your connection doesn't allow it to come down the wires smoothly without buffering. The slowest speed that will allow watching videos online smoothly is 1.5Mbits/s DSL.

This will download near a 100KBytes/s and usually give a smooth download.

Even a 256Kb/s DSL which downloads about 30 - 35 KBytes/s will hesitate (buffer) a good deal.

1.5Mb is called T1 (24 channels) and will probably cost about $40 a month.

you have a sluggish internet connection. the subject is, the playback is exhibiting the video quicker than your connection can load it. attempt pausing the playback on the commencing up and permitting the buffer to get virtually finished in the previous persevering with playback.
