I'm 17 and I do programming work, I can take on some freelance things for money here and there, but I have no way to actually receive the money because I don't have a bank acct. I made a Paypal account and haven't linked it to anything yet, but I was wondering if I can still receive money on the account even though I can't actually pull it out yet. I don't even need to be able to spend it yet, just need to know if it'll accept transfers. (I plan to save the money for a long time anyway) I was able to login and go to the balance screen so I figure maybe? Can someone tell me with 100% certainty whether or not I can atleast receive money on the account? If you don't know and you wouldn't mind, would someone just send a penny to test? (I'll send it back if you love your penny that much <3) xD Email is Coreylee.1995@yahoo.com

Any input would help <333 ^^ Please and Thanks.

You have to have a bank account to transfer the funds to. You can create a bank account online these days.

You can use the money in your paypal account to pay for purchases though. Many places are accepting Paypal as payment for merchandise, like local WalMart, grocery stores, paying bills, utilities, etc.

You can send the funds to anyone who has an email address, and if they have a bank account they can transfer the money to their bank, then give the money to you (i.e. parent, sibling, friend, etc)

Edit: You can not transfer funds to a reload credit card. Plus, they cost more to purchase, and have service charges design to eat all your money. Don't use them. It would be better to open an online checking/savings account

Even better is to open a credit union checking account, no service fees. and better service. Do a search for Credit Union checking, or call some credit unions in your area. Anyone can usually open an account at a credit union.

To answer your question, yes you can receive money from people through Paypal, without you having a confirmed bank account. They will have to setup a Paypal account to send you funds. and the funds will remain in your account when they send it to you. You can use those funds for purchases, or send to someone else. I'll give you my Paypal email address if you want to send funds to someone....I'm kidding (don't ever send funds to someone you don't know)

Im pretty sure that you would need a bank account if you wanted to eventually take the money out and use it personal reasons.

Other then that you can only buy and make money threw transfers from one site to another, or one account to another.

I dont have pay-pal myself but I do no some what from a friend.

You can purchase a reload able card at stores that sell it, for example CVS, and use that.
