Question:
How do I reclaim my old Itunes account if I have a new computer?

My Windows computer broke down a couple weeks back, and I have a Mac now. I figured I would just have to repurchase all the songs that I was dumb enough not to back up onto a CD...but then I noticed that when I tried to repurchase a song it would tell me "you have already purchased this...would you like to purchase it again" implying that there is still a record of my old account somewhere. Can anyone help me out with this because I am clueless as to how to get the songs back. Thanks.

Hey Bésame Soy Irlandesa!

You can either try recovering the data from your old PC (take it down to a local hardware store for it), or you can try emailing Apple.

Apparently, when I Googled the problem, some people were granted access to download all their purchases again, when their hard drives crashed. Apple's policy is that all songs can be downloaded only once, since they have to pay royalties concerning the distribution of music and videos that they don't own. But, if you're lucky, just like some of the people are, you might get permission from Apple to re-download them again.

Just fire an email to customer support and tell them your situation. I'm sure they'd be glad to help.

Good luck!!

right here is your 2-section answer: a million.- Your iTunes account enables you to've as much as 5 computers utilising an identical account, so which you've gotten that many computers allowed to play song bought from iTunes keep. regrettably, iTunes won't help you acquire your purchases back, till you pay for them back... it truly is why we would desire to back-up all of our purchases. 2.- it truly is accessible that your laptop died yet not the not ordinary force! You or somebody savvy in laptop hardware can take the not ordinary force off your ineffective laptop and connect it to a diverse one. as quickly as the disk/force exhibits on your laptop laptop, you may replica all your documents on your new laptop's not ordinary force. as quickly as there, in basic terms upload your cloth to iTunes... voilà! One caveat: The iTunes account on your new laptop would desire to be an identical you have been utilising on your previous laptop with the intention to play any cloth bought utilising that account.

Find a Linux user, and have them recover your files from the hard drive for you... if you do not have a friend using linux, then find your local user group and telephone them to see if you can bring your system, or hard drive and they will assist you in recovering all your data files. if you never created a backup of your iPod and did not have a collection of music outside of your iPod, then you will not have your music files on your old hard drive...

If you still have not formated your iPod for your Mac, the music is still on the iPod and can be backed up and saved.

Since Linux and windows treats your iPod as a USB device you can back-up the music that is stored on your iPod, then burn it to removable media and then back into your itune software on the Mac...
