alright, i'm on a 1500 kbps plan where download speeds are often 190-200 KB/s. I just messed around with my router setting changing stuff randomly and having no clue what i was doing really. When i got bored of it, i went to browse the internet, only to notice that pages were loading significantly faster. Every page loaded pretty much instantly, instead of about 3 seconds or so like how it usually is. I did a speed test on ozspeedtest and here are the results

Mirror: Spin
Data: 600 KB
Test Time: 0.02 secs

Your line speed is 305.21 Mbps (305207 kbps).
Your download speed is 37.26 MB/s (38151 KB/s).

seriously WTF did I do to get these kind of speeds!?!?! i tested several times and the results were all similar.

Mirror: Spin
Data: 3 MB
Test Time: 0.08 secs

Your line speed is 314.06 Mbps (314057 kbps).
Your download speed is 38.34 MB/s (39257 KB/s).

Mirror: Spin
Data: 3 MB
Test Time: 0.06 secs

Your line speed is 388.83 Mbps (388833 kbps).
Your download speed is 47.46 MB/s (48604 KB/s).

Well ok that last one was by far the fastest, but the rest are all between 36mbps and 40mbps.

Will my ISP notice this and change it back? or think i hacked them when i didn't? or what? i'm hoping i can keep these speeds forever :)

You lucky son of a god! :D What provider are you with? I live in Australia and i'm with ADSL 2+ Telstra bigpond and i only get 5 mbps download speed and 600 kbps upload speed ;( So you must've hacked the router settings!

Um to be honest I have no clue.

With routing it doesn't give you major settings to play around with (you could have to go into the router manually and type settings). You was on telnet, logging into the routers interface to change settings.

Your provider has obviously upped your download speeds, maybe it was sudden. I have changed some settings to give me better speeds, but not by that much.

Maybe you changed a option which allowed something. You may have changed the protocol used (RIP).

Either way yes you are lucky! I have low speeds too, around 800KB/s. Yes KB/s. I don't even get a megabyte.

NOTE: if your ISP was nothing to do with your speeds, yes you can keep the settings. It is YOUR router, they cannot change the settings. But if these speeds was to do with your ISP, then obviously speeds will vary.

You hacked them... you changed settings in your modem. Keep it quiet and you will be fine until they change settings again. BTW how did you do that???
