Newbie Question about Data Use?

I had just got New Samsung Galaxy S3 three days ago and i have a few questions...

Im on a 2gb per month data plan and I mostly use wifi instead of the data. I would like to know what happens to the extra data left over that I don't use? Does the amount of data left over add up every month so i'll more gb for example (6gb) or does it reset back to 2gb every month?

Thank You and this is just a newbie question. PS: I hardly know anything about data plans :D

any amount of data not used is lost at the end of the month it does not roll over onto the next month so every month you will have 2gb to use whether you used it a lot or hardly ever on the previous month

Well it depends on your plan with the phone company. If the data usage said "rollover" or "carry on" about the data then they would add up after every month. If not, then you wouldn't add up and you would start with 2GB every month

It resets. It's not an actual item, it's a data limit.
