I have a Windows2003 Server and I want to add more space to the C: Drive.

I go into DisK Management and Right Click on The C: Drive and then "Extend Volume" But I get the error.

"The Selected Volume is a system or Boot disk or was created on a basic disk in an earlier version of Windows and cannot be extended"

How can I resolve this?

If i convert it back to a Basic disk what will happen?

ur question is very confusing, that disk is a boot disk for booting into windows desktop, what I think ur trying t say is moving the partition on C drive, Vista & Wind 7, I think have that build in, us folks down below, have t a find programs that can do it. I had the same problem, I have a sony vaio xp home e, & for some stupid reason, gave a 120 gig HD w 20 on c & 100 on d, & windows OS takes up 4 gig's & the updates take 4 gig's r higher, so u end up w 14 gig's, & stupid me started installing all kinds of programs & music & video's, after a month I was running low on room on c, they didn't tell me t install all on d, & everything would have been fine, but it wasn't t be, there r programs that move r re size partitions but they cost the big bucks, Partition Magic is the best, however I did find one for free. called Easeus Partition Master 6.1.1 Home Edition for free & there is a free back-up program that u can download also, when u go t move the partition, do it on D first, select the D drive & w the handle arrows on the partition bar line move it back 20 gig's, select C drive & move that bar up t meet ur 20 gig mark, then at the top right of the Program, there a check mark for archive r go hit that & it will re-size it, hope that helps>:) Voila

there's no longer plenty diverse, merely as much as date and extra take care of. replace digital mail server advancements etc. extra effective unsolicited mail filtering. One answer I observed published is incorrect. homestead windows 2000 became no longer in accordance with win98. homestead windows NT 3.5,3.6,4.0, then homestead windows 2000,2003 are all based on the unique NT shape. XP became the 1st homestead version of homestead windows to start up alongside with technologies from NT. i exploit 2003 for cyber web centers at my isp. So different advancements of 2003 i do no longer know, documents base implementations etc. i know its very in a position with many innovations i ought to by no ability use.
