Click on the tools button located in the top toolbar of firefox. Then navigate your cursor to clear private data, and select whatever temporary internet files you wish to delete. Then click "clear private data" and your done.

Here's how you can clear the cache in firefox 2.x

In firefox, click on Tools-> Options . Click on the privacy tab now. Here, in the private data section click 'clear now' button. Now in the dialog which comes up make sure only cache is selected and hit clear private data now. Finally click on OK to close to options dialog.

Another way:

In firefox, click on tools-> clear private data or hit (ctrl+shift+del). In the dialog which comes up, make sure only cache is selected and hit 'clear private data now' (i find this method better than the previous one i described since this is quick)

Yet another way:

Install the extension 'clear cache button' . this will add the button clear cache to 'customize toolbar' window . And now you can easily drag the button onto ur toolbar (right click toolbar and select customize, in the window that opens find the cache button and just drag it onto ur toolbar) It works like a charm. The reason why this clear cache button on toolbar is helpful because its quick if you clear ur cache often. and also u don't have to worry about unchecking the checkboxes in the above two methods i described. Like for instance if you let the box 'saved passwords' or 'save form and search history' checked by mistake because ur in a hurry to clear cache and u clear the private data...then all that info is gone too along with the cache!

here's how you install that extension if u dont know how - In firefox , click on tools-> add-ons . now make sure ur in the extensions tab . At the bottom click on get extensions . in the page which opens, in the search box type 'clear cache button' and hit search . now click on clear cache button in the page which opens up and select install now and follow the remaining steps.

Finally after using any one of the above methods to clear the cache, if you want 'proof' that the cache is deleted, type in 'about:cache?device=disk' (without quotes) in the address bar of firefox. that'll take u to the disk cache page. Now over here, the 'number of entries' and 'storage in use' should show 0.

that's it :)

p.s sorry for such a long answer for a simple problem..but i hope you find the info what i've put up useful.

On the top toolbar, of your browser go to:: Tools>Options>privacy, from there you will see, the buttons and tabs labeled with the information your looking for.

you can also open up the run box, (windows key +r) then type %temp%, erase everything that shows up. Start with the first one though. As this option erases all of your temp data, not just the browser
