I had this same problem last week and had to contact my internet providers technical support. They helped me erase things that had been downloaded onto my computer that were conflicting with my other downloads. My suggestion to you would be to contact technical support to see if they can help you reconfigure your computer. You might want to try and reset your web settings (select tools at the top of your web page and then seclect reset web settings) first to avoid the always wonderful and lengthy hold times for technical support! Good luck!

Okay, i'm a 14 year old boy, me & my brothers know alot about, computers & viruses:P, That use to happen to me alott, somtimes iff you have, vista, it always cancels your downloading files, because vista dosent, support the file that your downloading, If not then reformat, the computer, Go to a website, or somweere to get it done, If you have Vista it will take alott of work too, reformat it, to xp. Soo If reformatting, ( Windows VISTA. to .Windows XP) I'm telling you it will work, vista is a fucked up, dumb new program, XP is the **** ( : so get someone to do it for you.. Best of luck, to your daughter & to you :-)

it is a connection problem or Internet cache if full.
so for connection prob check your connection on the computer (blinking PC with waves)icon in toolbar.
then check firewall settings,restart modem.
for Internet cache ether find out where browser stores the temp internet file setting and clean it or manualy do it go into
your temp internet folder delete everything in there not the folder it self.
oh ps this for windows i don't know about mac
net time put if it is a mac or windows or whatever os it is

go to accesories then to system them difragmentation, after open the internet options go to temporary files and all the history delete them then try to download, if that fail, with the understanding that lowering you safety cut bring a bug in, down you security a little and try again, if all that faill, go to you name brand computer and download all new drivers, at this point you shut consider to go to windows update, get all the updates, if all faill you need a tech!

Could be a firewall issue. Or user privaledges. Is she a limited user? You need to be administrator to download stuff. If not either of those, try a reboot and then re try. But its prob what i said. Good luck

What software are you using to download i.e web browser, p2p client etc etc ?
How big is the file/s you are trying to download ?
Is there enough room on your daughters hard drive for the file your trying to download ?
More info please.

Try running defrag, also go to tools, internet options and then clean the cache, then reboot. Maybe this will help.

antivirus, or spyware directors will interrupt downloads sometimes if they think the file is a problem

Is it broadband or dial up. Dial up is sometimes set to switch off if there is no active browsing. Broadband should not cut out. That would be a fault.

if u have a shared computer with multiple accounts, then u might have a computer administrator. if u do, then u might have to log into the administrator's account to download things.
P.S., wut does the error report say specifically?
