The great thing about InMotion Hosting is their technical support department which is U.S. based and operates a 24/7 schedule. Anytime support is needed they are there. I have a VPS account with InMotion, so I'm quite familiar with them.

I started out on a shared hosting plan, and as my website grew I upgraded to a VPS, it was easy to do as well. They handled the migration from shared to VPS for me.

As for bandwidth, I personally never ran into an issue. Something to keep in mind, which is relative to any host is that in a shared environment you are sharing the resources with other "customers" kind of like if you lived in the same house. If someone uses all the "hot water" there's not enough for the others to use.

VPS hosting is like living in the apartment. While all the users are under the same roof, you have your own utilities to use. At some point, your family may grow and you may need to move to a dedicated "House" which is like living in your own house. You are the only person under the roof, and have all the utilities to yourself.

If you are just starting out InMotion Hosting is a good place. They have VPS and dedicated plans if your not just starting. They've been around since 2001 and have experience in the web hosting market. Everyone has to use tech support from time to time, and it's nice to be able to contact them via phone, email, forums, and chat.

I hope this helps! Just keep in mind, figuring out the "BEST" host is pretty hard to do. All I can do is vouch for them!

Thanks!

Hi,

InMotion is good as far as I know. I read many positive reviews regarding this hosting service. But, we cannot decide a web hosting service to be good for everyone just by reading reviews or the specifications of a particular web hosting service. The goodness depends upon the individual's requirement.

For example, if you want to develop a basic website then you can go for a basic web hosting service but if your site has many pages then you should definitely search a web host service that offers great bandwidth, performance, etc.

If you are looking for a cheap and best service, then you go for shared web hosting service.

So, I suggest you to compare various shared web hosting services here: http://www.topinwebhost.com/shared-web-hosting.html

You can also check-out other services provided by them (like free web design).

Knowing about the traffic to the website is not an easy job I guess.

Finally, I advise you not go for the cheap web hosting service; instead choose a shared web hosting service.I guess this website might help you in dealing with your questions (http://www.topinwebhost.com/).

In fact, Inmotion is quite good. However, I don't think the best host even exists. Everyone has different needs. So, what's best for you might not even be a good solution for me.

As Inmotion is using more bandwidth providers for their business plans it is possible that the personal plans are a little bit slower.

How much traffic can you get? Well, that's a difficult question.

In their ToS you find the following:

---------------

Unlimited Disk Space & Bandwidth

While IMH does not meter disk space & bandwidth, the purpose of an IMH hosting account is to host web sites. Using a hosting account primarily for online file storage or archiving electronic files is prohibited.

IMH Personal & Business Class hosting are shared hosting environments, so to ensure fast & reliable service to all of our clients, accounts that adversely affect server or network performance must correct these issues or will be asked to upgrade to a virtual or dedicated server.

---------------

In conclusion: If your website affects the performance of other sites on the server, they will ask you to upgrade, which is quite common.

Unfortunately, you can't know how much bandwidth you could possible use without affecting other sites. This depends on a lot of factors: How many sites are on the same server? What are the specs of the server? How much CPU / RAM / database calls does your website use? How big are your files? How many visitors does your site get? Etc.

You can only try to build a rather lean website.

Personally, I recommend E2 web hosting. They offer great hosting for a very affordable price. I was able to serve a huge amount of bandwidth with a well coded site hosted at E2.

Here's a link to check them out: http://www.unlimband.com/webhost/e2.php

I host most of my sites with them and I'm very satisfied with their service.

Hope this helps.

There are some better hosts out there.

I recommend one of these: http://www.webhostinglist.org

iPage is currently on sale for just $3.50/month!

The full price for one year of hosting is $42/year.

Their hosting plan includes:

- Free domain name (.com, .net, .org)

- Unlimited storage and bandwidth

- Unlimited email addresses per domain name

- One Click installs of Wordpress, Forums, Galleries, Shopping carts

- Free ad credits for Google, Yahoo! and Facebook
