We want to work on both the files, information of which is connected to each other (usefull for cross checking). One option is of opening 2 files in Horizontal option on single screen but that is too small on my screen...any suggestions?

I dont know what you have for a notebook, but I plug a monitor in the Blue serial on my notebook, Right click open area on wallpaper and in the properties, click settings,Then in there click on # 2 and check use this device as primary then check

extend my windows, then apply.... The note book will be the main monitor and open your file and minimize it and dra it to the other monitor and maximize then open the other file it should be on your notebook....This shall work with the monitor on the right of the notebook, If you wont the monitor on the left, Drag the #2 screen in the settings in front of the # 1,Hope this works for you ,I have XP pro......Sorry I forgot to tell you this extends your computer to 2 screens like a real big widescreen, When I say drag the file to the monitor I mean click on the top of the page and hold down the left on the mouse and move off your laptopscreen the direction of the monitor........
