Question:
How to remove AV Security Suite?

I am using my laptop, but my desktop is the one that is infected.

I saw AV Security Suite pop-up with warnings that my system is infected. We have McAfee already, but I figured that my husband must have downloaded AV Security Suite until I Googled it on my lap top and discovered that IT is a virus that claims that I have other viruses. Thankfully, I haven't purchased the reccommended update that it keeps trying to get me to buy.

Now, trying to remove AV, I Googled a how-to and thought I was getting somewhere, but the how-to said I needed to download a remover from their site, and I can't get onto the internet. The only web site that WILL open is the AV site asking me to purchase some update, which is obviously bogus.

I have no idea what to do now, and I really am struggling b/c I don't have the money to take it to someone, as I'm expecting twins.

So, PLEASE help me out. I realize that it could take some time to explain this, but I have no idea what to do. THANKS!

Use the following steps to start your computer in Safe Mode only when using Internet Explorer:

Instructions on how to remove AV Security Suite

(If you are using Firefox 3.x, skip to step 8)

1. Restart your computer

2. Keep pressing the F8 button on your keyboard after your computer beeps during startup.

3. You will be shown a menu. With your keyboard, select "Safe Mode". Hit Enter.

4. After your computer starts up, open up Internet Explorer.

5. Click "Tools" and then "Internet Options"

6. Click the "Connections" tab and then click on "LAN Settings"

7. Make sure (Use a Proxy server for your LAN) is unchecked. Apply settings and restart your computer in Regular Mode.

Continue by following the steps below:

**************************************…

8. Download the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM), and save it to your desktop.

The link is provided here: http://www.geekagency.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=600

9. When the download has finished downloading, close all currently opened applications on your screen.

10. Go to your desktop and open mbam-setup.exe. This will install MBAM on your computer.

11. Keep following the instructions that the installer gives you. You are highly recommended to leave everything to its default settings. After the installation has been completed, leave both the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware boxes checked. Click the Finish Button.

12. MBAM will automatically run and you will be prompted with a message informing you that you should update the program before performing a scan. However, if you have followed the previous steps correctly, MBAM should update itself.

13. Check the Perform Full Scan option and click start. This will scan your computers for malicious files and harmful activity.

14. MBAM will currently scan your computer. This may take a while, depending on how fast or slow your computer is, and how badly your computer is infected.

15. When the scan is completed, you will be shown a MBAM Scan Finished Screen. Click "Ok" to close the message. Click Show Results

16. A list of malicious files included in your computer will be presented to you. Check all of the files and click "Remove". This will delete all of the infected files.

17.After the removal process, MBAM will ask you to reboot your computer to complete the removal process. Click "Yes" to restart your computer instantly.

Your computer should now be cleaned of any malicious file! I know it's hard to describe here but the link below includes screenshots, a link to download MBAM, and a support forum where you can get quick help if you get stuck.

Hope this helps! :-)

First, you have to fix internet connection. That means clearing up proxy settings (use direct connection), clean up hosts file, and reseting dns settings. Here a guide: http://www.2-viruses.com/how-to-fix-google-results-hijacker-google-redirect-virus-problem

In rare cases this might not fix all the problems, for example virus sets everything back on each change. Then I would recommend trying to stop virus processes using task manager ( AV Security suite uses processes ending in tssd.exe typically) or bringing removers using flash drives.

Download and install Malwarebytes free version. Update the program and run a quick scan. This program works well with most anti-virus software, just don't run a scan with both at the same time.
