Question:
A question for someone who is familiar with computers and things pertaining to them...?

This question might confuse you or anyone who reads it, but please bear with me because I am in need of help. When you insert a CD, DVD or flash drive into your computer, an AutoPlay box should appear asking with what program you want to open the CD, DVD or flash drive (you might choose iTunes or Windows Media Player for a CD, or you might want to open the files on your flash drive with Paint – you know). If you insert a computer game or a math DVD, the AutoPlay box will look the one in the picture I have attached. But if it is a flash drive with pictures and documents on it, the AutoPlay box will be longer and give you more options (view pictures, view with slideshow, open folder to view files, etc.). My question is this: I keep seeing the AutoPlay box (the one in my picture) when I insert a flash drive, and it’s bothering me because I have no software or games to install or run on the flash drive. Will someone who knows what to do about this please help me? I went to Control Panel, but didn’t find anything helpful. Well, maybe I missed something and I don’t know it. Please help me. . . !

Thank you.

It's hard to tell exactly what is happening, but from the sound of it, your computer is mistaking your flash drive for a video game CD-ROM. This is what I would do personally. In the Auto-Play box that opens up when you plug in your flash-drive, pick the box that says "Always Perform The Selected Action". Next, select "Do Nothing" as your action in Auto-Play. To access your flash drive, open "My Computer" (Shortcut is Windows Logo + E) and select your flash-drive. You could even put a shortcut on your desktop so you wouldn't have to open My Computer every time. Hope that helps!

Click "Do Nothing" in the menu but do not hit okay. Instead, check the box saying perform this action every time. Then hit okay. It shouldn't display autorun anymore from then on. Also, you could click Open the folder and check perform this action every time. Then it will open the flash drive every time you plug it in.
