For running slow there are many causes:

Microsoft Registry Problems = Slow Computer!

Spyware/Adware

RAM

De-Fragmenting

Etc.

Below can help you speed up your pc:

For IE, click Tools, Internet Options delete files (offline files) clear history (set days to save to 0 if you want) click o.k., and Restart

For Firfox, press ctrl+shift+del, and click clean private data.

Manage your startup:

Open your Start menu -> Click Run -> In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" -> In the "system configuration utility", click either "service" or "startup" tab -> Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

De-Fragmenting

1. Right click of C Disk.

2. Click properties.

3. Click tools tab.

4. Click "Defragment now".

5. Click Defragment.

You can search which process full use you cpu, and end the process.

Under steps:

2. click the Task Manager.

3. click the processes tab.

Do you have a lot of background programs running like msn messenger, explorer, anti virus, printer/scanner/digital camera programs/drivers etc(icons that you see at the lower right of your screen)? Normally these will eat up your memory causing your Windows PC or Internet to slow down.

Why not give PC Booster 2008 a try to boost your PC performance in 2 minutes. i have used for 3 years and it works great!

If you haven't cleaned your registry for some time. You should do it now. The registry in Windows PC contains information regarding your updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC's resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed.

PC Booster contains the latest registry cleaning technology to clean up all your registry problems too.

i'm not really into computers.... so i can't tell you about installing or buying more "room" to store in your computer so that it's faster... but i have a way that might help. in task manager there's process.. and from there you can end some processes that might be taking a lot of memory (inwhich you might not be aware of). Though be careful.. b/c if you don't know what it is... the name might actually stand for something important (or it could be a virus). But you could probably delete someting like .. ituneshelper--if you use it.

I'd like you to go to "Start", then select and click "Run". On the dialog box, type "dxdiag". Just wait for a second and when a new window pops up, check your Processor and Memory.

To optimize your internet's full speed, make sure you get the latest of these two.

Processor: it must be a Dual Core or higher (e.g. Pentium D 3.2GHz)

Memory (RAM): atleast 512MB or higher

Hope it helps.

One of the cheapest and easiest ways to speed up your computer is to add more RAM. It should run you anywhere from $30 to $60 depending on how much you buy.

Have you run a diskcleanup and defrag after the uninstall of programs? If not its likely that the HDD is fragmented, this leads to slow opening of programs and if allowed to build up, increases chances of drive problems.

Delete the temp files from your system and delete cookies and there is a option disk defragmentation in device manager. If you can perform that task then you system performance will definitely improve.

hi there

1. download iolo drive scrubber (http://www.iolo.com/ds/3/) or jv16 PowerTools 2008(http://www.macecraft.com/).or sytem mechanic..(http://www.iolo.com/)and many other tools are there you can try then on try mode i recommend you iolo drive scrubber as its very easy to use...

now please clean/wipe clean space form them ....because when you delete a file its only delete its pointer not the actual file... means the file still stay in your computer so clean/wipe free space of your harddisk

**warning please clean only free space of else your entire harddisk will wipe out when you use jv 16 or iolo drive scrubber please check the setting and set it to only clean free space and run it take some time and during that time leave your pc untouch ****

2. use ccleaner to clean your temp and internet cache

3. do disk defregmation for that right click on your drive C (or which you system is installed) go to tools and click on defregmation

4. Increase your RAM if its less then 256 for xp or less than 1 gb for vista

5. stop unnecessary services

http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

6. for more referance go to these sites.
