They can take up a lot of memory, depending on the size of the file. For example, most pictures will take up a lot of space. To remove an attachment from your email in Outlook, right click on the attachment. There should be a "Remove" button...click on that and it should delete the file. If you don't want to get rid of the file, but just want to free up space, right click on the attachment and click on "save as." It will open up a dialogue box that will allow you to save to a folder on your hard drive or disk. After saving, you can go back and "remove" as I mentioned above.

For most email programs, right clicking on the attachment should give you the "remove," "delete," or "cut" option.

Good luck!

Yes they can take up a lot of memory especially music, video, and picture files. But only if they are downloaded to your PC. If you have downloaded them, you should have a trail of where your downloads go. If you do not know, have a friend email you an attached file, download it and pay attention to what folder on your PC it goes. Then open that folder and you should find the rest of your downloads. Then set up a filing system to save the ones you want in another folder and move those, and delete the rest.

You are confusing memory and storage, I believe. Memory is your RAM and virtual memory, which is used by programs and processes that your are currently using.

Storage is space that is taken up on your hard drive, to well "store" stuff.

So the answer to your question is , no , email attachments do not use any memory, just some hard drive space.
