How do I record a long IRC chat?

Hey guys, I have an irc channel that will fill up to 40 people during an event on certain days, and I would like a way to record the entire IRC chat, so that I can file it and read it later offline.

Xchat allows me to click Window>SAVE TEXT, but this only saves the text entered during the last 5 or so minutes - any text entered earlier will be lost. Because my IRC event runs for over an hour, xChat doesn't allow me to save the entire hour of IRC content.

What would you recommend?? Thanks!

You could get a program called "Snagit" and take screenshots of your screen ever 2 seconds and read the screen shots after. A pain in the *** but it would work.

You can also use Snagit to record a video of your screen and just watch the video after.

on irc look in the manual and check internet forums till you can create your own version.. im sure you knwo what i mean, kind of like html, you can create it and make it do anything, if thats too complicated try and download a skin or a edited version that specifies it does that.

Use MIRC, it lets you log chat files, orders them by date, and records everything to text that you do.

Alternatively, you could just use Window> Save Text every few minutes.
