Hello,

This is Sandy. Working as a Technical Support Specialist.

I would like to assist you with your query.

DirectX 10 ships with and is only compatible with Windows Vista; previous versions of Windows cannot run DirectX 10-exclusive applications. There are other ways to install DirectX in XP Computers, it is not sure that it will work smoothly.

However, you can install DirectX 10.

To isntall that, there are some procedures to follow.

Here is a link, please open it and read it carefully before download and install DirectX 10.

http://www.techmixer.com/download-directx-10-for-windows-xp/

After that you should be able to play the high end games.

Thanks

Regards

Sandy

actual DirectX 10 remains less than progression, the perfect launch will be compatibale for all widows sixty 4 bit operating platforms including XP sixty 4 bit and 2003 servers. it remains beta at the same time as coated with vista. and attempt employing a relible source like microsoft actual I take that decrease back Direct 3D10 is eclusive to vista. From Microsoft: Will DirectX 10 be accessible for homestead windows XP? No. homestead windows Vista, which has DirectX 10, incorporates an as a lot as date DirectX runtime depending on the runtime in homestead windows XP SP2 (DirectX 9.0c) with ameliorations to artwork with the hot homestead windows reveal driving force type (WDDM) and the hot audio driving force stack, and with different updates contained in the operating device. as well to Direct3D 9, homestead windows Vista helps 2 new interfaces at the same time as the the perfect option video hardware and drivers are present day: Direct3D9Ex and Direct3D10. when you consider that those new interfaces position self assurance in the WDDM technologies, they is not accessible on beforehand variations of homestead windows. all the different ameliorations made to DirectX technologies for homestead windows Vista are also certain to the hot version of homestead windows. The call DirectX 10 is deceptive in that many technologies delivery contained in the DirectX SDK (XACT, XINPUT, D3DX) are not any further encompassed by employing this version type. So, touching on the version type of the DirectX runtime as an complete has lost a lot of its meaning, even for 9.0c. The DirectX Diagnostic device (DXdiag.exe) on homestead windows Vista does rfile DirectX 10, yet this quite only refers to Direct3D 10.

Windows Xp explicitly says it supports any DirectX up to and including all versions of 9.

10 wasn't released yet when Xp was out.

Direct X 10 only works on Windows Vista, you can download drivers to allow you to play games that use Direct X 10 and install them so it will mimic DX 10. You can go here to get them

http://www.fallingleafsystems.com/compatibility/

but it will not be true DX 10.
