I just got a Dell XPS M1530 with 2.1 GHz 3MB Cache, 4 GB of RAM and 8600 nVidia Geforce GT and everything works fine but control panel, which is windows explorer related. It always freezes/non responsive. Anyone have a fix? I have already tried CCleaner, and Defragging. Registry fixes too.

Yeah windows is BULLS**T, it seems to me that your OS is on its way out, if u have a win xp or vista or whateever cd try reinstalling the OS fresh over the corrupt one, if u dont want to do that put OS cd into cd drive and boot from cd but go to repair current OS. (this just reinstalls the OS files over the curropt OS files without loss of data and personal files on your C drive)

Bear in mind before all this just simply try doing a virus scan as it also sounds familar with virus/trojan activity.

good luck!!

disable your add-ons one at a time to see which one is causing the problem. tools-manage add ons. I have found that some of the extra toolbars ect is the cause. >>>>Add-ons are typically fine to use, but sometimes they force Internet Explorer to shut down unexpectedly. This can happen if the add-on was created for an earlier version of Internet Explorer or has a programming error.

Here's what you can do:

Disable it. If an add-on causes repeated problems, you can disable it through the Add-on Manager. ps GET FIRE FOX youll love it

Norton brought about such lots of BSODs for me with Vista that I had to do away with it. McAfee did an identical. the two courses i chanced on that somewhat look to artwork with Vista with none difficulty are ESET's clever protection (or in basic terms NOD32) and Avast. i'm presently making use of clever protection with none issues.

if its happening only with Control panel, there might be some software problem or a virus problem.

if its happening all the time, with every thing you open, please reinstall your OS
