I have a large amount files stored in my USB which I allowed to be copied by a friend. I tried to open it again on my PC but a large portion of it (1.33 GB to be exact) became invisible. I copied the files onto my PC hoping the situation will change but still these remained invisible. What should I do to recover these files?

in windows explorer, select tools > folder options

select View tab

under "Hidden files and folders" select "Show hidden files and folders"

if that doesn't work, in the same window:

untick "Hide protected operating system files"

click OK, ignoring the warning

Change the setting >> to show hidden files and folders in your computer.

for xp:

tools>> folder options>> show hidden files and folders.

Now change the property of files which have hidden attribute.

- Plug your USB drive into your computer.

- Open your documents folder (or any folder) or just double click your "My Computer" icon.

- On the top bar, click "Tools" and select "Folder options..."

- Click the "View" tab

- Select the "Show hidden files and folders" and click "Apply"

Open your thumb drive.

Good luck!

decide on the record which you extremely prefer to concealed and wonderful click on it. Now click residences and on the backside of the residences window, replace the record's characteristic to "Hidden". All you will ought to do to cover the record is to open any browser window and click "techniques" and the "Folder strategies" and verify "do no longer tutor hidden information and folders". To view the record, do merely the opposite.

Do you want the data or space back? You could just reformat the USB stick to get the space. Or you could try this.
