Question:
How do I lift and then copy text from a web page please?

I've found a great website but when I click to highlight the text, so that I can then copy it to a new word doc etc, - it won't let me. A circle with a diagonal strike through the middle comes up. So instead I pressed 'Select all' on the edit header above the web page cz I seem to remember doing this in the past but only selecting the text to print off and not all the multi-coloured back ground etc.
I'd be most grateful for any feed back. I don' want to steal this info - just print it off and read from paper instead of trawling though it all on a screen.

Thanks.

Looks like there is a page script that denies the user to do this and if they have gone to this trouble most likely you are out of luck.

You could do a print screen of the page and copy into a word doc to print off, if you want to be even more precise you could crop it to only show what you want and then place it in a word doc.

Copy, and paste it into a Word document then print it. Easy to only have what you want, and edit it.

Also, a lot of websites have a "printer-friendly" button that changes the page to look more like a written document.

Good luck!

Try right clicking over the text and 'save target as' and it should save the text for you and then you can print off the file you've just saved... Hope that helps :)

Alternatively... Re type it into a new document?

Some websites disable right click. If this is so, just hit Ctrl C to copy, and Ctrl V to paste. If this too is disabled, just save the whole page and see if you can edit the page to just that text.

rather than copying and pasting the info why don't you just go to the web page and print it! File Print

You can always hit prt sc( print screen) button. Then paste that into paint and save into a jpg. then you can edit or copy any part of it that way.

have you tried: 'file' and then 'save as'

you should be able to save as web page complete or text only or html only whichever you like.
