Once items are emptied form the trash they are gone FOREVER. There will be no remaining files stored or shifted to a backup location unless you decided to make a cope of the file before you emptied it in the trash. Hypothetically if say the CIA or the FBI needed to find out criminal information stored on your computer any you had deleted it they MIGHT be able to find traces of it, but once again that it pretty much just aq hypothetical example for governmental associations that might not even be true!

If you're using Safari, you can go to the History menu and at the very bottom you'll find an item that says "Clear History"; clicking it will (of course) clear the history. If you're using Firefox, go to the View menu, then Sidebar, and click on "History"; the History sidebar will open, and you can remove items from the history list by selecting them and pressing the Delete (or Backspace) key. If you're using Opera...I dunno, because I haven't used Opera for a while. :P (By the way, Mac isn't a set of initials, it's just short for "Macintosh". MAC stands for "media access control", which has to do with networking.)

The data is permanently moved to a specific location on your hard drive where it is placed back in cue to be overwritten by a new data.
