Several ISPs block outgoing messages if they're sent through an SMTP server other than their own.

So if you have Suddenlink, make sure your SMTP server is set to use Suddenlink's SMTP server; if you have RoadRunner, make sure your SMTP server is set to RoadRunner's SMTP server, etc.

Another possibility is that you have an outgoing message in your Out box that is larger than the SMTP's message size; you might clean out your Outbox to see if that helps.

Another thing you might try is to set up a different email client (I like Thunderbird a LOT better than Outlook, free from the same people that brought you the better web browser, at http://www.mozilla.com ); this mightl help you narrow down the problem to an Outlook problem or an ISP problem.

Yep! The same exact thing that my friend went through. ready?

Click on the Start button > Control Panel > Mail > Go to email accounts > View or change existing e-mail accounts >

Select the correct email account that was affiliated with your ISP and click on Change >

Within the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3), navigate to the Server information section >

For the incoming mail server (POP3): mail.comcast.net

For the outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.comcast.net'

Click on Next >

Finally, click on Finish.

This should help you out. You were probably a RoadRunner customer.

Are you using MS Outlook or Outlook Express? These are very different programs.
