The old windows98 style is really bothering me. We had to get an old computer because our other one got attacked (but that's not the point). I want to get the smoothe looking blue toolbars and and the green start button and all that fun jazz.
Can anyone help me?

That depends on if you're computer will run it. If you have at least 64 MB of RAM and at least 233 megahertz processor than it will run it. However these are the minimum requirements and it might run slowly. If this computer recently had windows 98 on it, it might not work because something that had 98 on it is probably pretty slow for todays standards. Check to see that you meet the standard requirements and get a copy if you can because I've worked with 98 as well and it is pretty bland compared the the newer operating systems.

The real question is how powerful is your computer? You could if your computer met the bare XP system requirements, but expect your computer to be slow. You could try XP, but for a old computer, keep what you have (Windows 98), or use Linux, a free operating system.

Why not just do a full reinstall of XP on the other computer? It evidently could run it, and reinstalling it with a full format will eleiminate any virus that's in it now.

You most certainly can; it may not work the fastest however. You could even try Vista but I do not suggest it; hardware is too old.

It depends on your processor speed and amount of ram you have.
