If I delete files from the REMOTE SITE, are they off the server?

I have been building a site with dreamweaver 8 and things have been changing. I am getting ready to delete some files and I want to make sure they are gone. When I open up the window to show the remote site and local files I can see the files I want to delete in the remote site. Do I just simply delete them from the remote site (pane), and they are gone? What is the "get" "put" option. Thanks for your help. Dustin

Here's a better way...



1) Delete the files from your local folder (archive them with WinZip or WinRar or move them to a backup folder if you need to keep copies).



2) Right-click on the folder and select Synchronize from the pop-up menu, and before proceeding with the synchronization, make sure that the Delete Files option is checked.

Many times I have used a similar function with FrontPage only to discover that the files were still on the server when I accessed them through the hosting file manager function.
