My OS (Win XP Pro) is based on a clone of my C: drive made with Norton Ghost... The registry shows DOS mounted devices C, D, E, F, & H (no G) under HKEY\LOCAL MACHINE\SYSTEM\Mounted Devices, but currently I only have pratitions C & D + DVD-RW as E.

Can I safely delete the invalid keys F + H at least? What about E? Is the DVD-RW a valid DOS-mounted drive? Thanks.

Don't do it through the Registry. You don't know of there is something else in the Registry pointing to those items, if there is it would cause more problems.

Just Remove them how ever you normal remove mounted drivers.

I consider gray CCleaner, i take advantage of it to bathe registry each and every of the time. it is going to test it, and ask to make a backup formerly fixing all of it. or you could pick what to repair. i stumbled on it very functional. in no way any complications.
