How to install plugins for minecraft server?

I have a minecraft server that needs plugins.I don't know how to add them. A lot of videos show a plugins folder. I don't have that. If you could help that would be great!

If ur using Minecraft_Server sorry u can't add any plugins, but if u use bukkit u could go to http://plugins.bukkit.org/ and download the plugins and put it into the plugins folder.

You need to get craftbukkit.jar from bukkit.org and put in your server folder. Bukkit.org is where you get all your plugins and help with plugins. Im assuming you have a server folder so what you want to do if you want to save your world just keep the "world" folder in there but take out everything else of your server folder and put in the trash and empty. Then you go here http://dl.bukkit.org/downloads/craftbukkit/ and click on the reccomended build in green at the top right. Download that and put the jar file in your server folder and start your server up and it will create a bunch of files in your server folder and you can put plugins in the plugins folder that you get from bukkit plugin list found here: http://plugins.bukkit.org/#ti=&ta=all&au=&subm=false&pno=0
