CD scratched on the top?

I have a cd full of important documents that I saved after my old computer crapped out. I need to get a document from the CD but i noticed that the cd is scratched on the top (the colored part) and now my computer won't read the CD. Is there any way to fix this so the computer can read it?

Well its the BACK part that really matters. It acts like a Mirror to Defect back from the Lazer. This is why you do NOT use other than a sharpie (No Pens) on the back. You can take a CD scratch it with a nail..Yet it works, but you make a Pinhole mark on the Foil side...Its DONE for dinner. Here is your ONLY Prayer- Find foil OR Rip off foil off of a BAD CD (LOL) Just enough to cover that up scratch and use Clear tape... Copy that (If you can)... This has worked for me in the past-with 90% recovery- it depends on how wide and what you scratched over b4.

IF and IF that foil is "Burred" and you can pres it back down..You may be able to tape it till you can copy it onto a Folder and/or CD.

When you do the copy- try to copy it to a folder first... You can try to copt it to a .ISO and let the .Iso maker program "Try" to fill in the errors...

Other than that- if the CIA/FBI wants that data...these are the only ways a "poor" man has to do it.. They have taken Hard Drives that fell into Ocean over 6 months+ longer and go 100% stuff back.. But these guys got $$$$$$$$

If the scratch is ll the way through, there are coatings you can buy to cover the scratch, although I've heard that dark nail polish or shoe polish also works. (If it's not all the way through, the problem isn't the scratch.)

you are able to desire to seal up the cracks first. attempt cleansing it with heat soapy water and particularly fairy liquid. Ive heard which you will desire to coat the scratched layer with toothpaste and enable it pass demanding and then wipe it off. If that doesnt artwork, pass to a gaming save and that they are able to take off the broken layer for you.
