Streaming audio breaking up.What is the problem?

Hi All,
I listen to Virgin radio Uk in Cape Town, South Africa on streaming audio. I have ADSL and I am using windows media player 9.. PROBLEM is that the audio is always breaking up every 5- 8 seconds. keeps on buffering....Is it software....should I upgrade my media player to 11,or is it my memeory, cache, connection speed, hard drive ?? What can i do??? i dont know whay my speed is (how do i check??)
Its very annoying..PLEASE HELP!!!!

Even though you have ADSL, the speed for all connections is not constant...



In fact, if you are between 3 and 4 Km from the nearest telephone station, you are probably getting about 30% of the advertised connection speed. (The signal degrades exponentially with distance from the broadcast node)



for example, I live in Japan and have 100mb ADSL. But, I live 3.5Km away from the telephone station. So, my actual measure download speed is a maximum 35mbps :-(



In order to ensure your network hardware is handling the most information possible at the fastest speed possible, you should download a good "network optimization" software. This will tweak your OS network connection settings so that it is working at maximum efficiency.

It's connection but you can try listen with WINAMP just to be sure.

it is your connection speed, check with your provider to increase your adsl speed.
