I am typing up a paper and I want to use two different fonts. When I am typing with one font, and then I switch the font to type something else in a different font, it automatically goes back to the first font. I don't know why. Please help. thanks in advance.

it's just the way ms word is, it wants everything to be uniform.

as a person who's not at your comp to see what the problem is, i think it's probably best to:

1- just type the whole thing in one font, then

2-go back and highlight the stuff you want to appear in the other font, then

3- select the other font while your items to be changed are highlighted.

I have Word 2007.

For me what works is the very first time I change the font - double click on the font selection instead of single clicking it. From then on I could change my fonts (just by single clicking) as many times as I wanted without any problems.

My guess is it's an autoformat feature - by double clicking you are deselecting that autoformat feature.

Hope this helps.

Everything is manual in microsoft office 2007. So you have to set up what you want. Also try the setting and change them.
