What's a web book? Is it like a netbook?

In which case it may have limited RAM and limited hard disk space.

Many netbooks run Linux 'cos they are so feeble they cannot manage Windows.

If it has enough RAM (more than 512MB) and a big enough hard disk (at least 100MB) then you can install XP. The CPU may be a bit slow however.

Make sure you delete all existing partitions and so remove Linux entirely. Otherwise you may run out of hard disk space.

What you are saying is, you have a web book, where the current OS is Ubuntu and you want to install Windows XP on it right?

What you do, assuming you already have the external dvd drive attached, (usb i presume?) is put the Windows XP disk into the drive, and then reboot your computer. Once the boot up screen shows, quickly press F8 (it varies from computer to computer and the screen goes by pretty fast so be quick otherwise you'd need to restart and try again!). Once you get the menu, select the "Boot from DVD/CD drive". By doing so, it will bring you into an interface which will let you install XP.

That should do it!

Good luck!

You need to restart the pc with the win xp disk in the dvd drive.. and lets it boot from the disk.. or just put it in the drive while on ubuntu and go into my computer and try double clicking it.. and see if it just runs and lets you install it that simple easy way..

i'm unfamiliar with the Linux ecosystem, yet i'm exceptionally particular it operates like another OS. You hard force could be partitioned, into what share sections examine by using using the command fdisk /status. you're able to be waiting to place in the two working structures on diverse partitions. Say on partition a million you have Your linux version, and on partition 2 you have your XP expert. to place in XP on a various partition, purely insert the disk, enter the setup, and while figuring out on which partition to place in on, elect a sparkling empty one. in case you elect to do away with linux, purely format your hard force to offer a sparkling foundation, then sparkling installation XP proffesional.
