No matter what I download, the UNSPECIFIED ERROR message pops up when I try to run it... It actually downloads on my computer, but it's when I click on that, is when the unspecified error shows up.... Even the programs to FIX the unspecified error does it! It's a fairly new computer, but I didn't have any restore points to go back to... I didn't have a back up disc made either. Is there any way to fix this without wiping out my computer & starting fresh??

Jenny,

There can be two issues:

1. Virus (Use AVG free)

2.. Corrupt registry ( Use reginout)

I am sure it will help you.

Jennifer - it would help to know what file types you have downloaded and tried to run

do away with Norton! every time we tried to place in it on desktops, it screwed them up. Un-installation it and spot if the difficulty is going away, if it does not, you are able to consistently re-installation it.
