Question:
Are Macs for people who aren't good at computers?

I always hear the main reasons why people prefer mac, and they say 1. Macs don't get viruses (untrue) 2. Macs are easy to use.
OK there are viruses for mac, just not as many, and if you know how to run your anti-virus software, you won't have a problem. And as far as easy to use, people act like Windows is really hard to use, lol. If you don't know how to use Windows than you are just stupid or not good at computers. But these are the main marketing plans of Apple, they are trying to get people who don't know much about computers, or are n00bs at them. So I ask are Macs for people who aren't good at computers?

Most people who endorse Macs aren't even capable of capitalization or proper grammar. I even had one fanboy tell me that Macs DO encourage stupidity, and that this was a GOOD thing. So I'll take it from the Mac users themselves: they are stupid and PROUD of it.

An excellent dissertation on Macs:

To those who say that mac users are "stupid and proud", that is totally untrue. I am using a mac to type this response and i am not bad at using computers. I bought it because it is a fast, reliable machine. Sure, it may cost a little extra, but you get what you pay for. And yes, some mac users may be bad with computers, but not all of us are. The reason that those people do use macs is probably because of the amazing customer service at the Apple Store, the simple UI and the quality of the products, which is more than I can say about Microsoft *cough* Vista *cough*. And the misinformed may say things like "macs don't get viruses", but that is just an exaggeration. The truth is that you can get viruses, there are just a lot fewer for macs and whenever you download something, it tells you if it contains an application so if you are downloading a song or a picture, you know something is wrong.

P.S. I don't work for Apple

I think the main reason people buy macs is the styling (they look sleek, simple and modern) compared to the industrial look of most of the windows PCs.

Also, windows has many problems with driver, hardware and software compatibility. For example, if you buy a high end game or application, it may not be supported by your graphics card or driver, etc. Some PCs may not be able to play certain applications at all, since the developers didn't take into account your particular hardware configuration.

Mac users rarely have to deal with that since there is really only one hardware and OS manufacturer.

Some people just don't want to worry about all that and just want to load an application and start using it.

No not all, it just depends what you are after. Lots of professionals use Macs, Programmers work on Macs etc.

I wouldn't say OS X was easier anyway, it just makes more sense, looks nicer and runs better
