I'm pretty much upgrading everything else except for my hard drive, which already has an operating system installed on it. When I put this into my new computer, is it automatically going to recognize it? So will I not have to re-install it again?

The BIOS updates for a motherboard are self reliant from the OS. in case you reinstall abode windows, no longer something will replace on your BIOS. while you're making use of abode windows Vista, 7 or 8, abode windows will upload a SLIC table interior the BIOS for activation purposes... yet this is it. The producer releases BIOS updates to enhance compatibility with greater cutting-edge hardware (that could have been released after the Motherboard develop into initially synthetic). those updates usually fix cutting-edge bugs interior the appliance so that's counseled to in basic terms replace the BIOS while you're experiencing some subject with the board. in case you have as much as date your BIOS and then put in the hot CPU, bypass back into the BIOS and shipment Optimized Defaults and Restart the workstation (after saving the variations). this could fix the BIOS to it truly is production unit defaults (for the hot Firmware version you have put in). it won't revert it back on your previous BIOS version. If abode windows keeps to restart, bypass back into the BIOS and verify that the Motherboard Settings tournament those required from the CPU.

Since the motherboard (At least) is different, you're going to need new drivers. A repair install may fix this, but most people would tell you to reinstall the OS.
