Sometimes, it's not going to work the way it was described above. Here's how to do it for sure:

Save it to any folder on a hard drive first (could be a desktop folder, doesn't matter). Then, press:

Start> Settings> Control Panel

Double Click a folder called Fonts.

A list with fonts opens up. Click File>Install New Font,

then click on a folder where you saved this file, select the font, click OK.

It's a good idea to restart the computer afterwards.

Good luck

Put the font file in C/Windows/fonts

Open your control panel, go to appearance and themes, then go to the font folder. Drag the font into and it should install. Make sure you have extracted the font files if you needed to!

Save the font to your computer. Go into control panel and double-click fonts. click on file, install new font. navigate to where you saved the font and click ok. It will install it on the computer.

Place the .tff (font)file into C:\Windows\Fonts and refresh the folder. Then load Word.

Install/uninstall

To install fonts you will simply drag and drop your uncompressed new fonts into the Windows Fonts folder.
