computer geeks please help!?

my new laptop connects fine round my boyfriend's house but at mine it doesn't, it has a little star and won't connect and takes a while to eventually connect up, so it does connect just not straight away and i've been told to change my router settings but i haven't a clue what i'm doing i've got a dlink router at home, please help!

Are you far from the router? If so move closer

There should be a small pin hole on the router.



Get a pin or pen and insert it in this hole.. Hold it there for 10 seconds.



That will completley reset your router.

1.Router Setting = its mean that your ip means your internet address is not same like on other side so signals comes but your computer don't have a way to get on that signals.



2.You are using Auto Setting for the internet changer them to particular setting that is on other side.

Are you using a program to connect to the network? If so, use the default interface that comes with windows. Some 3rd party programs cause problems when connecting.



Also dlink is a horrible router brand.

Try sending your laptop back to where you bought it and explain to them whats happening.
