RAM, GPU, and CPU, in that order of priority.

Get yourself 1GB of RAM, an older AGP 8X based video card (getting anything faster than a 6800 GT/7600 GT is a waste), and swap that Sempron out for a supported Athlon.

certain, improve to a minimum of 2Gb, the hot known. bypass to the dell internet web site and to verify what type you want. could be everywhere from $20-40. this can significantly enhance your pcs performance. pcs have become more low priced, and also you'll get a respectable twin center processor for $500 and a minimum of 2Gb's of ram and an particularly roomy 200Gb hardchronic. in case you pick to make that leap. you possibly can not improve the images card in that pc on condition that PCI exhibit did not somewhat come on that many pcs back then, so in case you improve your finished pc and then improve the images card for a much more advantageous pc than the single you've in the present day.

The ram is seriously lacking. It maxes out at 1gb and even that is a bit low these days.

I go along with Null...but I would upgrade that Hard Drive as well. 40GB is awful small nowadays and 5400 rpm isn't the fastest horse in the stable either.
