How to change file type?

Question

Technical version; I'm trying to get one of my drawing off my Nintendo DSi onto my computer and posted to Deviant Art. The DSi app can save the drawing onto my SD card but only in 2 choices: Animaed gif or sequencal gif

Problem is; Deviant Art won't accept gif files. How can I convert my drawing into a file D.A. Will accept? I'm not sure what the rules are, but I'd think they will accept most any other type.

Layman's terms; How to convert a .gif file into just about any other picture type?

I just want a regular picture. Nothing fancy, not animated. It's a Windows.

Just change it to a Standard.. JPG OR BMP.

You can use the free "Format Factory". It can be found at its official website or at download.cnet.com. Alternatively, you can also try opening the GIF file in Paint and save it as JPG, BMP or PNG.
