I have 5 Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable program on my PC. Is that OK? or is it a waste of space? or what? --- I have lots of games on my PC and some of them automatically installs MicVis C++. Now i have 5 -- 2 of which are 2005 - and 3 2008s. They all vary in size (one is 300kb one is 8mb etc.) --- How will uninstalling one of these affect my PC? Will it disable the game that it came along with?

---- Sorry for the long Q. Lol

Yes, having developed for most of those visual studios (2003, 2005, 2008), you definitely need them all. Every version has a different "runtime", which makes sure you can actually use applications created by that visual studio. So if you delete for example 2003, you probably break a lot of your applications, built using visual studio 2003. There are also Service Packs, which have the same version number, that's why you have more than one 2005, and 2008...

I had faced the same problem with alot of games, pokki apps, c++ and visual studio programmes and browsers are installed in my pc automatically with out my permission. It was malware so I install free trial anti-malware and scan it.After that I go to controlpannel and uninstall all of them which I don't want in my pc.

One way to find out.

Create a folder called "To Delete" and pop the ones you are thinking of deleting in there.

Try your games if they all still work and everything works after a month then you can delete.

However, unless you live 10 years ago those files are tiny compared to your harddisk. Its like throwing out a speck of dust to make more room for furniture. Id leave them alone and the method above is not 100%
