Hi All,

My company has a Suse 10 Linix cluster which is having trouble booting, it is getting stuck at the kernel prompt, here are some of the errors that we have been experiencing:

Also these two errors have also come up:

just replace it with the latest version if you dont have anything important on it! and replace Hard Disk if needed!

$ login as admin and type sudo su then

Change directory to root (/) directory:

# cd /

Create a file called forcefsck:

# touch /forcefsck

Now reboot the system:

# reboot

I even have been questioning approximately shifting to Linux for the final twelve months. I even have tried extremely some diverse 'Flavours' and that all of them look very sturdy esp Knoppix. Altho it quite is preserve purely think of if each and all of the folk who use living house windows migrate throughout the time of to it?Virus writers might have a field day with open source application.possibly evaluate working living house windows xp alongside a Linux 'distro' to start up with and notice the way you get on with it and then make your determination. can you get support from SGI on the itanium?

it appears the OS is attempting to rebuild a mirror or RAID and is unable to , ("not syncing" )

it is possible you need to break the mirror 1st, before attempting to rebuild the failed drive.

in terms of booting single user root you would need to init 1
