About a year ago I lost all of the favorites/bookmarks I’d saved and I still don’t know why. The favorites list was just empty one day, it had been completely cleared out. I have a new list of favorites that I’ve built up and I don’t want to lose them again. Is there a way to save that list onto a folder in my PC without copying the links one by one?

If you are using Internet Explorer, click on File and then click on Import And Export. Click Next and then click Export Favorites to highlight it. Click Next and you will see Favorites highlighted. Click Next and then click the Browse button and then navigate to the folder where you want to save your Favorites. Click the Save button and follow the prompts to complete the save. Your Bookmarks will be saved with the filename "bookmark.htm".

If you ever need to restore your Favorites, follow these same instructions, but on the first options screen, select Import Favorites.

They are already saved to a folder for you. They are normally stored in your documents and settings folder. No real reason why they are gone. They are normal files just like anything else, so you deleted them accidentally, or someone else might have. They are not just cleaned up like temporary internet files.

You could make a copy of them, and store them somewhere else, but for IE to recognize them, they need to be in the default folder.

Use Yahoo Bookmarks. Then you can use your favorities on any computer and they will be around for sure as long as Yahoo is.
