For a while now, my dell computer's time and date change by its self to two hours ahead. I manually set it to the right time, but the next day it is changed back to exactly two hours ahead. This also does not happen periodically, it will happen randomly and I don't notice it. What is the problem???

Periodically, the computer consults an Internet "clock" for the current time at Greenwich, England. It then adds or subtracts the number of hours for the time zone that's set on the machine. Yours is set to the wrong time zone. Do this to fix it:

1.Right-click the system time in the lower right corner of the screen and select Adjust Date/Time

2.In Windows Vista, click the Change Time Zone button. In Windows XP, click the Time Zone tab.

3.If the selected Time zone is wrong, reset it.

4.If the Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Savings time is set incorrectly, fix it.

5.OK out of everything.

Hope that helps.

if with the aid of 'open the computer', you propose turning it on, then you definately situation is that your CMOS battery is ineffective. the CMOS battery is what keeps the time and date settings on your computer. oh yeah..if that's the case be very careful changing the battery, i might recommened donning an 'anti static wrist strap' to dodge any factor on your motherboard from being fried (in basic terms a percaution)

You need to make sure that the time zone is set to yours. Chances are you have it set 2 time zones away from where you live.
