Okay up until today Malwarebytes has always been reliable for me. I've had it on my computer for 2 years now. I have Norton, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Malwarebytes. They all work well and none of them have ever interfered with eachother.

Two days ago when I ran a malwarebytes scan nearing the end my computer flashed to a blue screen. Then the computer restarted itself.

The error code is: 7a

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling malwarebytes; same thing. I ran a checkdisk, virus scan, spybot scan, memory diagnostics test, pc diagnostics test and nothing. It didn't find anything.

The program I use WhoCrashed displays this:

On Wed 3/23/2011 7:13:48 PM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\032311-26410-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ataport.sys (ataport+0x189C4)
Bugcheck code: 0x7A (0xFFFFFFFFC0443DA0, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000185, 0x1E357860, 0xFFFFFFFF887B49C4)
Error: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ataport.sys
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: ATAPI Driver Extension
Bug check description: This bug check indicates that the requested page of kernel data from the paging file could not be read into memory.
The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system which cannot be identified at this time.

I checked all my drivers. They are all up to date. I installed all the windows updates.

And even after doing all this. It still does the same thing whenever I scan with Malwarebytes.

My operating system is Windows 7. 32-bit. Toshiba laptop. Computer runs quite fast and smooth. I've never had any problems till now. Can anyone tell me what is going on with my computer?

This is an operating system issue. Not a virus. Thats why malware and the others can't detect it. You need to reformat your hard drive. You probably shut it down in the middle of an update, or modification to the operating system.

Your best bet is to back up all of your files and reformat. You can do so with a device known as an IDE/SATA to USB Adapter (google "BT-300 topmicrousa"). This device is well known for their great services and their durable products. They include free shipping and free lifetime warranty. Yes, lifetime. This means if the charger ever stops working on its own for whatever reason, they would replace it as many times as needed at no additional cost, for life.

This is a great way to sav emoney in the long run and a good investment as well.

You should be able to find them online through google search.

Best of luck.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.pchealthcleaner.net

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

If you are getting the BSOD again, try cleaning your RAM(s) using a soft cloth.

If problem still persists then certainly you have to modify registry portion of operating system. If you are not an advanced user of computer then manual modification would be difficult for you.so download a good registry cleaner like RegInOut.

That would be a virus.
