Okay, seriously. First recognize that an open port is not a *bad thing* necessarily. A good firewall program will help you keep the uglies out. Zone Alarm is a popular one (I think it may be free), otherwise, do a search on the internet for "Review firewall" and select a good one.

windows firewall closes ports unless you enable them..never tried to manually close a specfic port
