I can't stand it when they are shown as pictures in a grid form. I like the list form. When I select to view as list and then go to the next folder, then I have to view that one as a grid. I want it to always be a list without telling it to.

Easy.
Set it to a list then go to Tools, Folder Options, then the View tab and choose "Apply to All Folders" at the top of the screen. Sorted!
