If your HDD is partitioned than all you have to do is move things to the other partition or remove the partitions entirely, If your HDD is out of space i would recommend moving data to an external HDD or install a newer HDD with more space.

First check and see if you have anything on the D drive. If you do, be sure to back it up to a disk or USB thumb drive. You only have as much space to gain, as you have on the D drive. If there is a significant amount of space on that drive, you can either move some of your files to that drive, and you will have to establish links within your programs to get to them......or you will need a program to shrink your D drive partition, and then expand your C drive partition. All that was on my D drive was the files to restore the computer, so I made a DVD data disk set, and then deleted those files. I then used a trial version of Partition Magic, and it worked fine....since I only needed to do it once, I didn't have to buy it. There are several programs online, some are freeware, some are shareware. The one I used was very simple.
