Try a search on professional hard drive recovery.

The service will probably be expensive, but recovering one's data may be worth it.

Consider backing data up to DVDs and Blu-ray discs as well. They should resist electric and magnetic fields.

there are several ways a drive can "fail"

with some data can be recovered

some times without too much difficulty and a little expense

others more difficult and can be very expensive

with others the drive is junk and data cannot be recovered at any price

SO- you need to be more precise in HOW its failed

for a start - what makes you think its failed at all?

if the drive is broken, so are your files.

you would need professional data recovery people to get anything back, and that will likely cost thousands of dollars.

next time, backup anything important...

try taking out the hard drive

get a hard drive transfer kit

https://www.amazon.com/AGPtek-Drive-Adapter-Converter-External/dp/B00BIE996S/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=hard+drive+transfer+kit&qid=1564509234&s=gateway&sr=8-8

and use another computer to pull memory photos and files off the hard drive.

There are companies that specialize in recovering data from corrupted hard drives, but it's pretty expensive. In the future, you should back up your data to an external drive on a regular basis.

Data can be recovered from a failed drive, but it's a specialised job requiring expensive equipment. Check out data recovery firms near you and you can then decide whether you want to spend that much.

I would try taking it to a different computer repair shop until you can find one that can recover the data. It is doable, you just need to find someone who knows how to do it.

any decent p shop would be able to remove the latters for you, could give it a go yourself with the correct hex bits, bu a dirt cheep drive and swap the plates, tricky but can be done
