I recently installed a wireless card onto one of my computers. Now the computer will not let me into windows. When i start it up it goes to a blue screen that says "physical memory dumped" and then shuts back off. I can't even get on to uninstall the software.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

turn off the pc, make sure no power, remove the device you just installed, turn the pc on, log on to safe mode (by pressing F8 on boot) and uninstall your recently installed driver of your wireless card, or just run the system restore procedure. then try to install your device again (proper installation) with the driver, if it happens again, the device you are installing is defective

EDit: hopefully the best way to solve it is reformatting your pc, reinstall windows.

This is called BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). It means that either your Operating System (OS) has crashed, or your hard disk has developed some bad sectors. You will need to reinstall OS by using either restore CD or a fresh installation. In both the cases it will check for hard disk bad sectors and fix them for you. Soem of your data, which was there on bad sectors might get lost, rest of it will be intact. If you are not able to reinstall OS, then most probably the hard disk has crashed, data recovery becomes tough in this situation.

can you elaborate on your computer like what is the manufacturer, version of windows, last time you updated. Chances are that you did not install the software before installing the card? Try taking out the card and starting over.

BSOD (blue screen of death) always dumps physical memory - that means it makes a copy of it on disk. So if someone wants to spend a week figuring out what went wrong, the information's there. It's pretty useless.

Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new software, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info

uninstall the hard ware... remove the card!! then when you turn on the computer before windows loads hit F8 it will bring up a list of options.. go in to safe mode... then windows will load... Note:::: in safe mode lots of options are unavalible:::: go into your control panel to your ADD REMOVE HARDWARE OR YOUR DEVICE MANAGER.... and remove the drivers from there... Then restart.... if that doesn't work i can walk you threw another option.... let me know!
