Even worse then! My daughter uses Pipex and she has nothing but trouble with it and she can't wait till the end of her contract to get rid of it!

Do you know who to contact? I have been having the same problem as well, I received a letter about a week ago informing me that bulldog is no longer bulldog, but part of tiscali. I have since misplaced the letter, so I'm not sure who to phone, when I tried BD it was just an answering machine saying the lines were closed even though I phoned before that time stated!

I have to say that I have been with BD for at least 3 years, with my own domain and email forwarding though 123-reg and never had an issues, until the last month when I couldn't send with my domain name as they have stopped email relaying and have had to pay to use a 3rd party smtp server and now I'm not getting any emails (tell a lie I am, but only a few test messages that I have sent myself and then 14 hours later!!)

Just to let you know that I have spoken to Bulldog and there is a problem with the mail.bulldoghome.com server which they are working on, but are unsure of the problem. A big ISP like this I would have thought they would have a cluster.

A couple of things.

1. Bulldog have confirmed there are issues with their email server (recorded message on the customer service 0800 number) and I spoke with a customer service rep who confirmed they are hoping to have everything back up and running today (19th June). Personally, I've not had an email since Monday afternoon.

2. Pipex bought bulldog in 2006 (see link) http://www.bulldogbroadband.com/residential/announcement/index.asp

3. Tiscali then bought Pipex in 2007 (see link) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6897687.stm

Hope this helps.

I am also having issues (for the last few days) cant connect to POP to collect emails through outlook, or pick up email through Bulldog's online mail system.

Also lost my entire aDSL last week (Chandlers Ford). I am an IT engineer and had to spend 30 minutes on the phone with an idiot, confirming a whole host of things about my system, getting off wireless, removing my hardware firewall before he would escalate to 2nd line who responded with "yes the exchange is down - hope to have it back up in about 10 minutes" - they could have told me that at the begining of the call .....

Bulldog, great when it works - pants when it doesnt!

It's still down!! Unbelievable! How these people are still in business is beyond me. Bulldog might be cheap, but there's a massive trade off for that.

Not had any email for three days now.

No announcement on their website. Service status is down and the same recorded message about problems with mail on their 'customer service' line.

It is now having a serious affect on my business.

tis strange but it may be connected to the ayreshire girls comment about tiscalli. bulldog is part of tiscalli and they are selling out of the broadband arm probably to vodaphone
