I am trying to open a pdf file and the notification that win zip has expired pops up.
Which other program can I use to open it?
Thanks a lot!

To start with , WinRAR is not a free program , it is available as a 30 day trial version but is a program that must be paid for.
Your alternatives for compression software is 7zip which is a completely free compression program and handles everything WinZip or WinRAR can do.
If you are trying to open a pdf file though then you need to use Adobe Acrobat Reader - this is a free program too , there is a commercial version that allows creation of pdfs if that is needed.

get Winrar from any torrents site or fileforum.com and install it. It has the option of winzip inside it too so u can choose win zip as ur default extractor or compressor too if u wish but win rar does it all so no need to worry as such. Infact Winrar is the BEST. Been using it since 8-9 yrs lol.

PDF files open with acrobat reader. You can download a free trial version of winzip or winrar works too.

Lots of people I know abandoned WinZip long ago and now use 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/)
In a lot of ways it's much better and will open almost any file. It's UI is a little different, but after a week or two you won't miss Winzip at all.

Uninstall WinZIP and download the new version.
I have been using Winzip for years (trial version) and it has never expired.

Please right click PDF file and go to --Open with and associate pdf with Acorbat Reader . Here it looks you have mistakenly associated with winzip.
