i have just bought a Philips Freevents LS1400 PC Tower for nearly fresh air, it came with everything media remote, wireless keyboard and mouse all in original packaging, etc and its full HD aswel, all that was missing was the hard drive so was a huge bargain.

the only issue i have with it, is ts front LCD display, its meant to show you the time, ram, hard drive etc but theres no way of configuring it that i can see of?? i have been to the philips website and contacted them, there about as much use as a used match, clearly not interested in helping me. im sure if i was spending money they would be......anyway, can anyone tell me if there a software package, or way on the system i can configure it??

i know the CMOS battery is flat as the time on the display is meant to show the same as windows, but its reset everytime i turn the pc off.
plus it came with no hard drive so i had one spare, and installed windows vista home premium.

iv no idea what the front display would go under in device manager to see if it has a link to a website either. any info anyone can offer would be great.

You mentioned the CMOS battery, but you didn't say whether you changed it out or not.

If you disconnect your modem/router cable and start the system and the correct time isn't showing on the taskbar, the CMOS battery is dead and needs to be replaced. That button cell (usually a CR2032) provides the power that maintains the proper time, personal settings, passwords, etc., when the system is powered down.

>i know the CMOS battery is flat

If that means that you know the battery is dead, you know where to start.

Hello, (ANS) LCD = Liquid Crystal Display. This is used in the Ipod player so having no LCD screen is a major disadvantage no matter how cheaply its being sold at. **I wouldn't advise you to buy an IPOD without a working LCD display. Its a MAJOR disadvantage or set back if the player doesnt have a working display screen. Why? because the most important IPOD players functions are operated via the display screen. In other words DON'T buy it, it wouldn't be worth having even if it can still play music. For example how will you be able to load music tracks or select tracks you want to listen too without the use of the screen? No matter how cheap it is I wouldn't waste your money on it. If you really want an IPOD buy a working one from new or from second hand, etc. Kind Regards from Ivan
